Abstract:
On one hand, current Hardware trends indicate that future systems, most likely, will be based on many-cores or heterogeneous cores architecture. But, on the other hand, many people question how long it will take for the software to cope with these HW trends.

This panel will focus on (1) the readiness of the SW to meet the multicore/heterogeneous HW trends, and (2) assuming the SW could not cope with the HW pace, how it will impact the entire computer industry? (3) can we propose new alternatives for future HW-SW co-design?
