Past Projects

One of the initial projects conducted at the centre includes fundamental and applied research in Transactional Memory (TM). The centre developed several TM applications as well as compiler and runtime tools and architectural simulators for TM.

One of the main barriers to using multi-core processors effectively is excessive synchronization inherited from sequential code and monolithic operating systems.

Many future applications in the mobile and server segments will depend on and will benefit from vectorization and Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) support.

StarsS is a Programming Model and runtime that is developed by BSC.
